FAQ about Installation and configuration
1. What does the installation of ADSL at my home or place of business consist of?
A splitter (frequency separator) must be installed in your home or office over the telephone line and a MODEM (CPE). Both devices will be installed by ICE technicians.
2. Who installs the terminal equipment at my home or business?
The ICE only installs proprietary CPE and Splitter terminal equipment.
3. Who installs the CPE and Splitter, the ICE or the customer?
You have the option of requesting that the ICE install the CPE that you purchased or of contracting a third party to do the installation.
4. Who makes the computer configuration?
The ICE will install the Acelera Service in the building and to configure the computer when the client requests it.
This configuration consists in programming in the computer of the client the net card to recognize the IP address assigned by the ICE.
The ICE will configure the quantity of computers that are connected in direct way to the CPE (while it is not required an additional equipment).
5. If I do the installation on my own am I still billed for the installation quota specified by the ICE?
Yes, as that amount covers commercial handling and the installation of the service, not the terminal equipment.
6. If I acquire my CPE and Splitter how long is my waiting time for the ICE to do the installation?
A week after formalizing the service’s paperwork, you will be called to set up an appointment and verify that the CPE has been purchased.
7. What do I have to provide to the ICE at the time of installation?
Regardless of weather the installation will be carried out by an ICE technician or a third party technician, the technician must provide you with your email account (username and password). If the equipment to be installed belongs to the ICE, it must provide it as well as the installation instructions for that equipment.
8. Can the Internet service be installed if I have not purchased my CPE?
Yes, for this the technician will use testing equipment that the ICE has on hand in order to test for correct functioning of the system.
9. Can I opt to change my own CPE and Splitter for ICE equipment?
Yes, customers will be able to change their equipment for ICE equipment, in case of damage or because you want to make the change. When the equipment is replaced, the customer must sign a receipt for the equipment.
