1. Which are the requirements of the telephone line for the installation of the Acelera Service?

•  A telephone line supported on a copper pair or the possibility of the installation of one.

•  That your line doesn't be supported in WLL technology or in electronic red.

•  The distance between the telephone central and the building of the client has to be appropriated to permit the transmission of the speed hired or to have the technique measures that the ICE makes.

 

2. Do I have to configure the internal telephone net to install the Acelera Service?

Yes, it is necessary that the client conditions the internal telephone net of the building. This job will be executed by the technicians of the ICE, whenever the client agrees in installing a cable in an exposed way (the cable will not pass through a conduit). By the contrary, the client should condition the telephone net before the ICE makes the installation of the service.

If the telephone line where the service is going to install has an alarm system connected, the client should have a modification in the cable system of the internal telephone net.

3. Which are the minimum requirements that my computer should have for installing the Acelera Service?

The minimum requirements of the computer are:

•  Pentium III Processor or higher, with 128 MB of memory RAM and 40 MB of space in the disk.

•  Operative System: Windows 98 or higher, Linux in every version or Mac OS 7.0 or higher.

•  The computer must have an Ethernet card with 10 or 10/100 Base T interface, to connect the terminal equipment of the ADSL.

•  In some cases it is a requirement that the computer has an available USB connection instead of the net card (Ethernet).

In case of there is necessary a longer cable for the connection, the client should supply it, considering the next:

•  To acquire the telephone cable of a pair with the respective conector RJ11.

•  If the cable belongs to the CPE of the computer, it is necessary a UTP cable category 5, with RJ45 connectors called Straight Through (Plain).

•  In case that the CPE works with USB connection, it is necessary a USB cable.

4. What documents do I have to present when I finalize the contract?

If you are an individual you must present:

• Identification card, residence card or passport with a photocopy of it.
  
• If the customer has already left copies of his identification for other transactions with the ICE, he must indicate where this information was given.
  
• If the applicant or the customer can not be physically present, whoever represents him must present documentation of authorization authenticated by a lawyer along with a copy of the representative’s identification as well as of the customer or applicant.
  
• No prior existing debts with the institution, product of an accounting liquidation from previous services.

Corporate customers

• Paperwork must be presented by a legal representative, for which the corresponding juridical power of attorney (personería jurídica) must be presented. This certification must not be older than one month from the date of emission, for ICE requirements.
  
• The customer must provide a copy of the legal corporate identification number (cédula jurídica) along with the original for verification, or as an alternate, provide a certified copy of this document.

These arrangements mentioned above can be executed, in the case of persons as well as corporations, by anyone in representation of the customer or person responsible for the service, by means of a special, very special, general, or generalissimo power of attorney. The power of attorney document will remain in the customers service file with the ICE. When it is specified in the power of attorney that the empowered person can execute various transactions, the ICE will provide the person with a photocopy of the power indicating which of the authorized acts has already been executed in order to avoid any abuse in the use of the power.

Both types of clients must not have any prior debts with the ICE, a byproduct of any accounting liquidation from other services.

5. Do I have to sign any contractual forms for the Advanced Internet Service, if I acquire the CPE and Splitter on my own?

Yes, you must fill out the contractual form for the Internet service.
